QUIÉNES SON / WHO ARE THEY?

La película tiene dos personajes principales, Anthony y Rama. Por razones muy diferentes se encuentran solos y sin ayuda de ningún tipo; sólo disponen de sus pies para caminar y alcanzar su objetivo. Ambos tienen vidas desgarradas y son esclavos de una estructura social india que no perdona.

The film has two main characters, Anthony and Rama. For very different reasons, they find themselves alone without shelter with only there feet to carry them. Lives torn apart and slaves to the unforgiving Indian social structure.

Anthony, 62 años de edad, católico de Cuddalore, en la costa oriental India, en Tamil Nadu. Al igual que tantos otros agricultores indios, su vida ha sido truncada a causa de la introducción de las llamadas milagrosas semillas transgénicas. La promesa de cosechas abundantes y rentables resultó ser un falso resurgimiento agrícola y el comienzo de una espiral hacia el desastre, la deuda y el hambre para su familia. Es un hombre destrozado, pero lo suficientemente fuerte como para hacer frente al nuevo reto de encontrar trabajo en la metrópolis de Bangalore. Superando esta prueba podrá recuperar la autoestima y el orgullo de su familia. 

Anthony, 62 years old, a Catholic man from the village of Cuddalore, in the eastern coast of India. Like so many farmers in India his life has fallen apart because of the introduction of so-called miracle GM seeds. The promise of abundant and profitable crops without failure turned out to be a false dawn and instead started a downward spiral of debt and hunger for his family. He is a broken man but somehow strong enough to face a new challenge to find work in the metropolis of Bangalore. A challenge to rescue his pride and provide for his family again.

Rama, 42 años, hindú del distrito de Anantapur. Se encuentra en estado de shock, su mundo acaba de ser violentamente desgarrado. Nacido en una familia pobre que vendía verduras, se mudó a Trivandrum cuando tenía 19 años para tratar de cambiar de vida. El destino quiso que personas poderosas lo confundieran con un Brahamin (hindú de la casta más alta), y así tuvo la oportunidad de vivir una vida diferente. Regentó el negocio de un hotel, ganó dinero, se casó, tuvo hijos, fue feliz hasta que un día un visitante, sin quererlo, desenmascaró el fraude.

Rama, 42 years old, an Hindu from the Anantapur district. We find him in a state of shock, his world has just been violently torn apart. Born into a poor family who sold vegetables, he moved when was 19 to try and change his own destiny. As fate would have it people mistook him for a Brahamin (a hindu from the highest caste), and he was thrown a chance to live a different life. He set up a hotel business, married, had children and was happy and successful until one day a visitor unwittingly unmasked him as a fraud.
