David
Blanco es cineasta, guionista, productor y
arquitecto, y vive en Barcelona. Por sus trabajos ha recibido diferentes
galardones nacionales e internacionales, como el Primer Premio en el 9TH ANNUAL
TWIN RIVERS MEDIA FESTIVAL, USA (2001) con Borsh, el Refugio, Premio a
la Mejor Dirección en el FESTIVAL DE CINE EXPERIMENTAL DE MADRID (1996) con Viaje
a la Luna, o premio al Mejor Cortometraje 6th INTERNACIONAL PANORAMA OF
INDEPENDET FILMAKERS DE TESALÓNICA (2004) con El Corazón de las Tinieblas.
Con dicho cortometraje participó en el 2002 en el en una exposición organizada
por el INSTITUT DE CULTURA DE BARCELONA.

Blanco is
filmmaker, scriptwriter, producer and architect, and lives in Barcelona. He has
received several international and national awards for his short films, like
the First Prize in the 9th ANNUAL TWIN RIVERS MEDIA FESTIVAL, USA (2001) with Borsh, the Shelter, the award for Best
Director in the WEEK OF EXPERIMENTAL CINEMA OF MADRID (1996), with Voyage to the Moon, or the award for
Best Short Film in the 6th INTERNACIONAL PANORAMA OF INDEPENDET FILMAKERS IN
THESSALONICA (2004) with Heart of
Darkness. With this short film he participated in an exhibition organized
by the CULTURE INSTITUTE BCN.
EN 2002 David Blanco fue seleccionado para participar en el II
LABORATORIO DE GUIONES SGAE / SUNDANCE, con el proyecto de largometraje Las
Rutas Circulares. Ha co-escrito el cortometraje Bamboleho y los
largometrajes Condón Express y La Valla de Luis Prieto. Su
cortometraje Machulenco fue seleccionado en el 43 FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL
DE CINE DE NUEVA YORK, en el FESTIVAL DE CINE GAY-LÉSBICO DE LISBOA, en el
CON-CAN DE TOKIO o en el FESTIVAL BELO HORIZONTE EN BRASIL, entre otros. Su cortometraje
El Premio formó parte de la
exposición colectiva EL D-EFECTO BARROCO inaugurado en el CCCB de Barcelona en
noviembre del 2010.
In 2002 David Blanco was selected to participate in
the II SCRIPT’S LABORATORY SGAE/SUNDANCE, with the feature film project Circular Paths He has co-written the
short film Bamboleho and the feature
films Condom Express and The Fence by Luis Prieto. His short
film Machulenco was selected in the 43th
INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL OF NEW YORK, the GAY-LESBIC FESTIVAL OF LISBOA and
in the FILM FESTIVALBELO HORIZONTE in Brazil. His short film El Premio (The Prize) was part of
the
exhibition "THE D-EFFECT BAROQUE", opened
at the CCCB of Barcelona in
November 2010.
En 2011 David Blanco finalizó La Sombra del Sol,
su primer largometraje como director y productor, premiado con el Premio del
Público, Biznaga de Plata en el FESTIVAL DE CINE ESPAÑOL DE MÁLAGA 2011. El
film “La Sombra del Sol” también fue seleccionado en el Warsow IFF (Competición
Internacional 2011), en Cinemed, Festival del Mediterráneo, Montpellier
(Competición Internacional 2011), en Toulouse, Festival de Cine Español
(Panorama 2011), en Pune IFF (India-Word View 2012), en Pusan IFF (Corea
2011-mercado) y en Tetouan, Festival de Cine Mediterráneo (Competición, 2012),
entre otros.
In 2011 David Blanco finished La Sombra del Sol (The Shadow of the Sun), his first feature film
as director and producer, Winner of the Audience Award, Biznaga de Plata, in
the MÁLAGA FILM FESTIVAL 2011. The film “La Sombra del Sol” also was selected
in Warsow IFF (Competition, 2011), Cinemed, Festival du Mediterranean,
Montpellier (International Competition, 2011), Toulouse Festival de Cine
Español (Panorama2011), Pune IFF (India-Word View, 2012), Pusan IFF (Korea 2011
– market), and in Tetouan, Festival de Cine Mediterráneo (International
Competition, 2012).
La
productora Batea Films S.L. es
fundada por David Blanco en el año 2005, y nace con la intención de levantar
proyectos cinematográficos de marcado carácter humano, artístico y social.
His production company Batea Films S.L. was established in the year 2005. David Blanco
sets up his own production company with the intention of developing film
projects with a strong human, artistic and social content.
