QUIÉNES SON / WHO ARE THEY?
La película tiene dos personajes principales, Anthony y Rama. Por razones muy diferentes se encuentran solos y sin ayuda de ningún tipo; sólo disponen de sus pies para caminar y alcanzar su objetivo. Ambos tienen vidas desgarradas y son esclavos de una estructura social india que no perdona.
The film has two main characters, Anthony and Rama. For very different reasons, they find themselves alone without shelter with only there feet to carry them. Lives torn apart and slaves to the unforgiving Indian social structure.


Anthony, 62 años de edad, católico de Cuddalore, en la costa oriental India, en Tamil Nadu. Al igual que tantos otros agricultores indios, su vida ha sido truncada a causa de la introducción de las llamadas milagrosas semillas transgénicas. La promesa de cosechas abundantes y rentables resultó ser un falso resurgimiento agrícola y el comienzo de una espiral hacia el desastre, la deuda y el hambre para su familia. Es un hombre destrozado, pero lo suficientemente fuerte como para hacer frente al nuevo reto de encontrar trabajo en la metrópolis de Bangalore. Superando esta prueba podrá recuperar la autoestima y el orgullo de su familia. 

Anthony, 62 years old, a Catholic man from the village of Cuddalore, in the eastern coast of India. Like so many farmers in India his life has fallen apart because of the introduction of so-called miracle GM seeds. The promise of abundant and profitable crops without failure turned out to be a false dawn and instead started a downward spiral of debt and hunger for his family. He is a broken man but somehow strong enough to face a new challenge to find work in the metropolis of Bangalore. A challenge to rescue his pride and provide for his family again.

Rama, 42 años, hindú del distrito de Anantapur. Se encuentra en estado de shock, su mundo acaba de ser violentamente desgarrado. Nacido en una familia pobre que vendía verduras, se mudó a Trivandrum cuando tenía 19 años para tratar de cambiar de vida. El destino quiso que personas poderosas lo confundieran con un Brahamin (hindú de la casta más alta), y así tuvo la oportunidad de vivir una vida diferente. Regentó el negocio de un hotel, ganó dinero, se casó, tuvo hijos, fue feliz hasta que un día un visitante, sin quererlo, desenmascaró el fraude.

Rama, 42 years old, an Hindu from the Anantapur district. We find him in a state of shock, his world has just been violently torn apart. Born into a poor family who sold vegetables, he moved when was 19 to try and change his own destiny. As fate would have it people mistook him for a Brahamin (a hindu from the highest caste), and he was thrown a chance to live a different life. He set up a hotel business, married, had children and was happy and successful until one day a visitor unwittingly unmasked him as a fraud.

Actor de teatro, cine y televisión. Alumno del National School of Drama de Mumbai. Saxena es bien conocido en India, ya que ha interpretado a muchos personajes y de roles bien distintos. Ha actuado en films como  Kaaboo (2002), Ghaav (2002), Ek Hindustani (2003), Samay (2003), Fun2shh (2003), Kismat (2004), Bhola in Bollywood (2005), White Rainbow (2005), Tejasvini (1994), Tarpan (1994), Bhagvan Sahib (1985), y muchos más, así como en papeles para series de television. Nacido en Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, India, ha trabajado con actors de la talla de Shahrukh Khan, Amir Khan y otros. Virendra Saxena es un nombre reconocido en la television India y en la industria del cine en general, y sus interpretaciones son siempre bien recibidas por crítica y público.

He is an Indian theater, film and television actor. He is an alumnus of the National School of Drama. Saxena is known for his character roles as well as his unique voice. He has acted in films such as Kaaboo (2002), Ghaav (2002), Ek Hindustani (2003), Samay (2003), Fun2shh (2003), Kismat (2004), Bhola in Bollywood (2005), White Rainbow (2005), Tejasvini (1994), Tarpan (1994), Bhagvan Sahib (1985), and more, as well as many television serials. He was born in Mathura a place Uttar Pradesh in India. He has worked with leading actors like Shahrukh Khan, Amir Khan and others. Virendra Saxena is a famous name in Indian television industry and his acting has always been highly appreciated by viewers.

Vikas Shrivastav
Actor de cine y teatro, ha trabajado en el largometraje Gangor High School de Italo Spinell -Italian film-, realizando el papel del gran villano; en Ek Thi Dayan, una producción Vishal bhardwaj, con Emran Hashmi; en No Exit, interpretando uno de los papeles principales; en Bhaiyaji Superhit, encarnando a un villano enfrentado a Sunny Deol. Ha actuado en muchas otras películas como Gangaajal, de Prakash Jha, Chingaari de Kalpana Lazmi, Contract de Ram Gopal Verma, Billu Barber de Priyadarshan, Barahaana de Raja Menon, Money Hai to Honey Hai de Ganesh Acharya, Phoonk- 2, Red Alert de Anant Mahadevan, Once Upon a Time in Mumbai de Milan Lutharia, entre otros. A finales de mayo de 2013 debutó como protagonista en la película Beehad, una superproducción de Bollywood, interpretando el papel del bandido real Nirbhay Singh Gujjar.

INDIAN WAY es una “foot movie” (una “road movie” a pie), una película con actores indios hablada en Inglés Hindi y Tamil, un drama íntegramente a rodar 100% en localizaciones naturales en India el próximo año 2017. La historia: dos hombres cruzando a pie Tamil Nadu de Este a Oeste. 


La premisa: el nacimiento de una amistad entre ellos en una historia de supervivencia y superación. El guión está en su séptima versión y es el definitivo.


INDIAN WAY is a “foot movie” (instead of a “road movie”), a film with Indian actors, spoken in Tamil, Hindy and English, a drama that will be shot 100% in natural locations in India the next year 2017. The story: two Indian men crossing by feet Tamil Nadu from East to West. The premise: the birth of a friendship between them, helping each other to survive. The script is in its seventh version, which is the final one.

Nuestro largometraje se rodará en localizaciones naturales con gente del lugar. Seremos un equipo reducido para captar con facilidad y agilidad la idiosincrasia real de lugares vivos y auténticos. El equipo técnico de "Indian Way" está formado por: David Blanco (director), Kiko Moreno (productor ejecutivo en España), Darshan Mehta  (jefe de producción en India), Manish Gray (asistente a la producción), Eva Torres (directora de arte), Dennis Wheatley (postproducción de sonido), Roi Rodríguez (transmedia producer) y Ferran Cabré (community manager).

 
Our film will be shot in natural locations with real people. We will be a small team with a small camera to easily capture the idiosyncrasies of actual living in authentic places. 


The technical team of "Indian Way" are: David Blanco (director), Kiko Moreno (executive producer from Spain), Darshan Mehta  (production controller from India), Manish Gray (production assistant), Eva Torres (art director), Dennis Wheatley (sound post-production), Roi Rodríguez (transmedia producer) and Ferran Cabré (community manager).

Virendra Saxena, actor
Uno de los protagonistas, Virendra Saxena, es un actor muy conocido en India. Después de haber leído el guión de “Indian Way” estaba muy sorprendido con el proyecto, repetidamente nos felicitó ya que habíamos sido capaces de capturar con detalle la real idiosincrasia india. Virendra cree que tenemos una historia maravillosa que contar.

One of them, Virendra Saxena, is a well known actor in India. He was very surprised after reading the script INDIAN WAY, he praised it repeatedly, saying that it was amazing, that I had captured in perfect detail the Indian character, he was more than enthusiastic about the project. He thinks we have a wonderful story.


El otro protagonista, Vikas Shrivastav, es un actor en alza y un diamante en bruto. Hasta ahora ha interpretado papeles secundarios en films de acción y está deseoso de demostrar sus dotes con un papel dramático, rodando un papel protagonista en el largometraje europeo. El 17 de marzo de 2013 se estrenó su 1er largometraje como protagonista en “Beehad, una producción de Bollywood.

The other actor is Vikas Shrivastav, a new talent, a rough diamond and extremely motivated artist. So far, he has played main roles in action movies, and he wishes to demonstrate his interpretation power in a dramatic role, shooting a feature film as main character for a European production. His first film as leading role is “Beehaad”, a Bollywood blockbuster whose premiere was performed on March 17, 2013.



LOCALIZACIONES
    LOCATIONS
Durante los últimos años hemos recorrido el sur de India buscando las localizaciones naturales para la película. La historia se desarrollará en tres paisajes diferentes y consecutivos, acordes con el espíritu dramático escrito en el guión. El film comenzará en el paisaje verde de Pondicherry y alrededores, continuará en parajes entre húmedos y pedregosos de Gingee y alrededores y terminará en terrenos secos en las regiones del sur de Andhra Pradesh y Karnataka. Es decir, habrá una transición en el paisaje, del vergel al principio, a lo desértico al final de la película.

In the last year we have been travelling across South India looking for natural locations for the film. The story will take place in three different and consecutive landscapes, in agreement to the dramatic spirit on the script. The film begins in the green landscape's area of Pondicherry, will continue in wet and rocky places between Gingee and around this village and, at the end, we will shoot in the dry southern regions of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. There will be a transition in the landscape, from the lush green field at the beginning to the desert at the end of the film.


PLAN DE RODAJE
    SHOOTING PLAN
Hemos planificado un rodaje en India de 45 días (6 semanas, 6 días a la semana). Tendremos 4 diferentes bases de operaciones en 4 ciudades/pueblos distintos: al inicio de rodaje en Pondicherry (1ª y 2ª semana), a continuación en Gingee (3ª semana), la siguiente en Kholar (4ª semana) y finalmente en la ciudad de Bangalore (5ª semana). Seremos un equipo técnico y artístico de unas 25-30 personas, con tres coches, una furgoneta y un minibús para los desplazamientos.

 

We have planned a shooting plan of 45 days (6 weeks, 6 days a week). We will have 4 different shooting bases in 4 different cities / towns.



At the start of the filming we will be in Pondicherry (1st and 2nd week), then in Gingee (3rd week), then in Kholar (4th week) and finally in the city of Bangalore (5th week). We will be a technical and artistical team of about 25-30 people, with three cars, a van and a minibus to travel.
